Good Morning   

 

Just a reminder -- no class this week due to Sunday School promotion Sunday.  We will be starting our reading on this coming Monday, with our first class discussion, Sunday, September 3.

Need to continue to remember Kelley's husband Don, who is recovering his auto accident and the resulting surgery.

Today's prayer requests:         Letson Farms and Virginia Tech

 

The situation at Virginia Tech yesterday was somewhat similar to what happened at Letson Farms a few weeks ago -- an unexpected shooting that led to a police search, and more importantly, so much uneasiness for those who live and work in the area.  Crime has a way of creating so much fear in our lives -- we just need remember all of those who are affected by this fear and pray for them to find peace and comfort in the face of this fear.

Good Morning   

 

Hope everyone had a good weekend.  We have one more weekend before we will get started on things, because this weekend is Sunday School promotion Sunday, and we won't have SS this Sunday -- there is a ceremony during this time in the sanctuary for the those who are moving up to new classes.  I'll go ahead and nip the suspense in the bud --- no one out of our class is going to get promoted into another class -- I didn't want anyone coming to church this Sunday hoping to get their certificate and to get moved up to another class.   Maybe next year.

 

As for starting our new study, we'll start reading on Monday, August 28 so we will be ready with our first discussions on September 3, so you'll want to have your book by then.

Today's prayer requests:          Megan's friend Kayla 

 

Update on Megan's friend Kayla, who is pregnant but had a growth on her throat that was concerning doctors.  The mass has gone down enough for the doctors to decide to wait until after she delivers to do the surgery, which is a great blessing for her.  We need to still remember her, since she still has a long way to go with her pregnancy, and we don't want any relapse to force the doctors to reconsider their current course of treatment.
