Good Morning!
I'm back from vacation -- did a few days at the beach. Hope everyone else has been having a good week. This has always been one of my favorite weeks of the year.
We'll have class and worship services this week at the usual times.
Some things on the table:
First things first -- I like to regularly check and make sure that everyone on the email list wants to continue to receive it. If you'd like me to drop you, just reply with Unsubcribe in the subject line, and I'll drop you off the list. Note that if you unsubscribe, you can still get the same info from our class web site.
On the other hand, if you have someone who you may forward this to regularly, and you'd like it to go to them, drop me a line with their email address and I will add them to the list.
Second, our next study:
The Book of Revelation at this point is our next destination, absent anyone having a desperate objection to that direction.
Our question is which study. I had sent along four studies that I had found on Amazon -- links to those four books can be found on the web site (leapclass.blogspot.com) on the entry for Monday, Decemeber 19.
I've run across another book for us to consider, one that should be familiar to us -- William Barclay, the author of our Luke study, has a two volume series on Revelation. Here's the link to the Amazon entry for Barclay's book:

These links can give you a little more info about the books.
Before I order a book, I'd like to get some input/feedback from the class. I actually am leaning towards the Barclay, since it is something we are familiar with. However, he was maddening at times in our Luke study, so I might thing better of it in a day or so.
Third, for Sunday, I think that we should have an initial discussion about Revelation -- about what our impressions are of the book as we begin, and what the popular wisdom is about the book, and how we think that our study of the book will help our faith life.
Fourth -- if you are a person who likes to make resolutions for the new year, one thing you might want to consult is Wesley's 22 Questions (there is a link to them from the web site). These are questions that Wesley and his original group of like-minded college friends established for their devotional group, for them to use everyday to judge their behavior. Seems like there could be a resolution or two in there for all of us.
Today's Scripture
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12
Today's prayer request: Saundra Aaron
This is Valerie's brother's mother-in-law, who is being treated for breast cancer. Need to continue to remember her as she continues her treatment, and her family.
Today's class member prayer:
