Good Morning

Where in the world have I been?  I just have been slammed since Monday, and since then have been just crazy with travel and work, and between the lack of time and the lack of internet access, I haven't been able to send out anything.  Sorry to just disappear like that.

And, as I mentioned last Sunday, I won't be able to be at class this Sunday, but that was going to be a short one anyway. (We are supposed to dismiss class at 10:30A so that the music service can begin at 10:45A.  One service only on this Sunday)  I hope everyone has been reading along.  Here are the readings for the week:

Today's Reading:

Monday -- Revelation 7:1-3; pages 21-23 in Barclay, stop at "The Living God"

Tuesday -- Revelation 7:1-3; pages 24-25 in Barclay, stop at the "Seal of God"

Wednesday -- Revelation  7:4-8, pages 25 -27 in Barclay, stop at the "Number of the Faithful"

Thursday -- Revelation 7:4-8, pages 27 - 29 in Barclay, stop at the "The Glory of the Martyrs"

Friday --- Revelation 7:9-10, pages 29-31 in Barclay, stop at the "The Praise of the Angels"

We''ll discuss this week's and next week's readings during our class on Easter Sunday.

Today's Scripture

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Galatians 6:10

Today's prayer requests:   Angie, co worker of Brigette Severance

Angie is someone who have had on our prayer list due to brain tumor discovered about three weeks ago, and she had to have immediate surgery.  Her tumor has now been classified as a Stage 3 tumor, and she'll have to begin radiation.  We need to remember her in our prayers.

Good Morning
-- Don't forget -- We are going to have a Sunday School Class meal on tonight, at 6P at the home of Ron and Michelle Ray. All you need to bring is a dessert and your soft drinks. We just need to let Michelle know who is coming -- email her at mray@vulc.com by today to let her know, and to get directions.
Today's Reading: Revelation 7:1-3; Pages 21-23 in Barclay, stop at "The Living God"
-- short one today -- running behind due to the time change -- still not entirely up to speed.
-- it is interesting to note little quirks of language that we live with but hardly notice what they really mean -- four corners of the earth fits with that -- I use it and see it all the time, but based on what we know today, there are no corners of the earth -- it isn't flat nor square.
-- again, there is this idea of God controlling everything, and having a plan for everything - in this case, controlling the very weather so that the angels can complete their task of sealing his people. While those of us on earth can't see what is happening, that is what John's great gift was -- to have a vision of the big picture --of watching God's plan unfold from behind the scenes, so to speak.
Today's Scripture
The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.

John 1:5

Today's prayer requests: Nelson Ferreiro, a friend of Megan's family

He completed chemo about 45 days ago after brain surgery to remove a tumor, and is going for a recheck shortly. Need to pray that his cancer stays gone, and that he continues to improve.
