Good Morning
-- glad to see everyone on Sunday.
-- as we discussed, we'll begin study of the Max Lucado book "Cure for the Common Life" in a couple of weeks, once we get the books in, etc. In the meantime, I'll keep the daily scripture and prayer requests going.
-- this is also a good time to review the email list -- if you are receiving this email and want to drop it, just hit Reply and put "unsubscribe" in the subject line. On the other hand, if you know someone I need to add, just hit Reply and put "subscribe" in the subject line and then the new email address in the body of the email.
-- remember, you or someone else doesn't have to receive the email to keep up with the class -- the same content is available at the same time on the class blog, which is at www.leapclass.blogspot.com. This is also handy if you can't get to your email, or if you want to look for something that was in an old email. There is also a search function on the site that allows you to search for specific words or phrases.
Today's Scripture
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:12-17
Today's prayer requests: Don Thaxton, Kelley's husband
Need to continue to remember Kelley's husband Don, who is recovering his auto accident and the resulting surgery.
Today's class member prayer:
Ellen Barrett
(I just noticed today that in my predawn haze I've been copying and pasting Elizabeth instead of Ellen, and since I think Elizabeth Barrett Browning is well past the need of prayer, we'll pray for Ellen today, just to make sure she is covered. Sorry about that Ellen.)
